Video gaming is a use of TV technology, the slightly over the edge of what most people with a lump in my home entertainment (probably) because of the obvious home computer, but it is a very popular usage of TV sets yet.

Video games were first available back in the seventies with the introduction of the Atari and Intellivision. These two video game systems, creating very primitive, low-resolution graphics and sound effects and music much easier, butoffered much entertainment of the first-generation gamers. These were the gaming platforms, the first brought us the classic games like Pacman, Donkey Kong, and asteroids in our own house.

Nintendo and Sega brought us the next generation of video games that much more realism provided. These systems were faster and had higher resolution and more memory for much larger games. There were action-adventure games like The Legend of Zelda, fast-paced side-scrolling games like SonicThe Hedgehog, and racing games like Road Rash.

Over the years, video game platforms have become only better and have helped to make new technologies and mainstream. For example, Sony Play Station 2, not only further increases the bar for the quality of the pictures that come from a video game console could, but also helped to DVD 's is the standard video format for movies at home.

Recently, we have access to the Nintendo Wii, the Play Station 3Sony's and Microsoft's Xbox 360 The Nintendo Wii offers a cost effective and flexible way to a bunch of different games in a family environment to enjoy.
